My sister Emily and I share a thing for abandoned buildings. Actually, I don't know many who are not interested in them, but we are absolutely fascinated. What is their story? Who left it? Why? Will it ever be in use again?

While driving through an Iowa cornfield area, we spotted this school, randomly thrown up at some point in time in history, in the middle of literally nowhere, and summarily abandoned. I have no idea of the age, it seems to be in near perfect condition other than the obvious windows and doors and such...
You can see from the furrows that whoever farms here just plows and plants right around the skeleton. Does he ever wonder about the school's history? Or, being a local, does he know it already and just accept this empty edifice as part of his area's story and go about his business? Such a beautiful building, it had a lovely half-circle terrace in front. If it weren't about 8˚ outside, with hungry kids waiting in the car, we might have tried exploring inside. There were no trespassing signs up, just a lonely lovely brick building.Note: Looks like someone else found it and took a vid. People with seasickness should not watch this. I watched it on mute, so forgive me if there's anything offensive in it with sound on.
Extra note: If you happen to be one of those people who love abandoned places, check out this site.
