WysiHat ... Finally!
I can't believe this flew under the radar for as long as it has: wysihat. It's a framework for a javascript WYSIWYG editor. It's let's you worry about what the editor looks like and it takes care of the rest. This is exactly the kind of thing I've been wanting for my projects for at least a year now. I'll report later on how well it works.
